What happened to Gamespot?

Did anyone else notice how Gamespot seems to have a shortage of game reviewers or something? Gamespot used to be on top of everything in the gaming industry and they were easily the number 1 site for gaming news. They can’t even put out a bloody review on time anymore… For instance, Star Ocean: First Departure on the PSP has been out for over a week now. It’s a fairly big release and all the other major sites (notably IGN) had their review of the game out either on the day of release or the day after. It’s been over a week and GS has yet to post a review… It seems that all Gamespot covers these days is the major releases on PC, X360 and PS3. They don’t seem to care much about the other platforms, especially the PSP. The last update on the PSP page was a preview for Dissidia…and that was posted what 2-3 weeks ago? Now if IGN didn’t have those pesky ads, I would probably switch over to them. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that Gamespot sucks (they still give fairly accurate reviews and don’t have those annoying ads like IGN), but they sure are slow now. I miss the good old Gamespot that released reviews on time…

  1. hell yeah i agree
when i first joined gs like 4 years ago, they were awesome
but after tp’s 8.8 review, i just dont trust them anymore
i mean world of goo was released like 2 or 3 weeks ago i think and they reviewed it today.
